Meet the Team

Kristin Erwin, president
Kristin began her rescue journey in January 2015 and has successfully rescued nearly 400 animals. Each animal holds a special place in her heart and their happy endings fueled her to help more. In 2017, she purchased a dog trap to help the frightened and timid dogs she would come across. This is when she quickly learned she has a "type". Helping dogs who were defeated and untrusting transform into a more confident version of themselves are her favorite cases. Kristin has also successfully captured the hearts of many on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Her posts and videos reflect her hard work. Kristin's dedication and compassion are evident in her work and passion. She not only advocates for the voiceless, but she is also a dedicated wife and mother.

Megan Hill Josey, treasurer
Megan became involved in rescue in 2011 when an animal advocate approached her family business to bring awareness of animal dumping near their property. Megan began feeding, rescuing, short term fostering & transporting almost immediately. She felt obligated to care for these discarded animals. Since then, she’s helped over 300 dogs, around 30 cats & even a burro. Megan has fostered almost all ages and sizes: several new amputees, semi-feral weirdos, really tiny, and really big, super slobbery, extra needy, insanely hairy. She is involved in TNR (trap-neuter-release) efforts of community cats nearby her home. Megan volunteers her time as a foster & transport coordinator for Lola’s Lucky Day, a local rescue in Houston, TX and has fostered for various other rescues throughout the years. Her husband, Shane, also helps with foster duties in their home. Megan is grateful to have the opportunity to teach her kids kindness & empathy through volunteering/fostering.

Jocy Aguirre, secretary
Jocy became obsessed with rescuing animals after a tragic event in her life. Feeling lonely, she decided to take in a free puppy she found on the side of the road. Little did she know that he would change her life. River became Jocy's best friend, and after only two years together, his life was cut short due to a car accident. Jocy was devastated, but she channeled her grief into a determination to help other dogs and cats in need. Although it's not always easy to care for older or frightened dogs, or to make difficult decisions about seriously ill dogs (such as those with parvo), the moments of joy that come from improving a dog's life make it all worth it, which she describes as "god moments." She will continue to help those animals in need.
